Yin Yoga is a practice of long-held floor poses that target the joints, connective tissues, and deep muscles to increase flexibility and promote relaxation. While the poses may look familiar to Hatha yoga practitioners, the pace and intention are very different from a typical Hatha or Vinyasa class. A 60-minute session may include only 6–10 poses, allowing time to settle into stillness, explore your edges, and cultivate mindfulness. Sequencing often works with the body’s subtle energies, opening meridians or chakras to restore the flow of chi (prana) and create balance in mind and body. Myo-fascial Yin combines gentle use of therapy balls and yoga props with traditional Yin Yoga holds. Each session focuses on massaging a target area, followed by a Yin posture to deepen release. This complementary approach works on both the muscular and fascial networks, helping to down-regulate the nervous system, reduce overstimulation, and cultivate a deep sense of relaxation, balance, and inner peace.
